Bengaluru GAFX 2025 Showcases Cutting-Edge Animation and Gaming Advancements

Bengaluru – The highly anticipated Bengaluru GAFX 2025, India’s premier event for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR), is set to take place from February 27 to March 1. The conference, themed “Future of Immersion: Experience, Explore, Disrupt,” will spotlight state-of-the-art innovations in real-time rendering, AI-powered visual arts, virtual and augmented reality, and business models in digital storytelling.

Bangalore IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge highlighted the city’s significant role in the global animation industry, pointing out that over 80% of the animation work for the upcoming Hollywood film Mufasa: The Lion King was completed by Bengaluru-based IT firms. He emphasized that the animation outsourcing industry in Bengaluru has enormous untapped potential.

With an expected footfall of over 20,000 attendees, double the number from previous years, the event is poised to be a major milestone for India’s AVGC-XR sector. The conference will feature keynote sessions by global experts, a public-access exhibition and creative zone, an innovation hub, investor connect sessions, and the live finals of a national e-sports championship featuring the top four regional teams.

During a press conference, Kharge also highlighted the immense growth of India’s gaming industry, which has the world’s largest gaming population, boasting over 500 million players. He noted that the sector is expanding at an annual growth rate of 23%, with 23 million new gamers added in the past year alone.

Karnataka, which introduced India’s first AVGC policy 16 years ago, will use GAFX 2025 as a platform to showcase financial opportunities for startups, international studios, and intellectual property (IP) creators. Kharge reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering the digital media sector by supporting both emerging and established players.

With its dynamic blend of immersive technology, investment prospects, and industry networking, Bengaluru GAFX 2025 is expected to propel India’s AVGC-XR industry to new heights, reinforcing its position as a global powerhouse in animation and gaming.
